Egosum app for iPhone and iPad

Egosum —Latin for “I am”— is a social network where all the users have to choose qualities to describe each other. All the profiles can be filled by anyone in the network except for the owner of that profile.

With Egosum you will find out how your Facebook friends and the rest of the world actually see you. Your Facebook friends will probably give a clue of who you really are. The rest will probably just give their first impression.

How it works:

1- Download the app and REGISTER. Connect through Facebook if you want to have friends in the network. Your list of friends will show those Facebook friends of yours who are already using Egosum;

2- EDIT the few things that you can edit in your profile —i.e. post some pictures and write a small paragraph about yourself;

3- Go to contacts and start checking your friends’ profiles and the profiles of all the other users nearby. And feel free to DESCRIBE them. It’s anonymous and you can select up to 10 qualities/adjectives for each person —unlimited with the upgrade. We have a list with over 800 qualities;

4- See what people say about you in your profile. Note that it may take a while until people start describing you;

5- If you FOLLOW other users in your area, you will be able to see in your WALL the videos and the pictures that they post. But you will not know who posted them. The Wall does not show any user names so it is anonymous to some extent —people can actually see what you have posted if they go into your profile and click on “Pictures”. So the more people you follow, the more fun it will be. Some users in your area may post modified pictures from other apps like snapchat, msqrd, or face swap, and therefore it’s not always easy to recognise the people who appear in your wall;

6- In the Chats section, your "Friends" mailbox will show you all the individual and/or group conversations with your friends. But if you send a MESSAGE to an unknown user, that chat will not appear in any mailbox and that person will not be notified. Both users will have to check on each others profiles and click on the "Message" button to see that chat;

7- Your "Flirts" mailbox shows all the chats that have been started with the FLIRT button. If you go to your Contacts section, you will see that all the users have the word "Flirt" next to their names. If you click on it, it will offer you the possibility to send an emoticon that will go into the Flirts mailbox of that person. The other user will also receive a push notification. To access this mailbox each user needs to upgrade their account first.

Egosum is a free social network but we offer some additional features for $7.99 a month —or equivalent. With our upgrade, the ad banner disappears, you get an UNLIMITED NUMBER OF QUALITIES to choose for each person, and an access to the "FLIRTS" mailbox. Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period.
